Marketing Video Interview Subliminal Stimuli Behind the Scenes Viral Video

Nye Health Services Shoot

When our loved ones age and begin to need help caring for themselves, it can take an emotional toll on us. Some of us are near enough and in a position where we can help out, while others are forced to employ others to assist due to distance or time constraints. More often than not, no matter which group you fall into, you will eventually be faced with a decision of what to do when your aging parent or grandparent can no longer live independently.

Screen Shot 2016-07-25 at 12.38.58 PM

If you asked anyone in this situation what they would want to see in a retirement or rehabilitation community for their loved one, it’s likely that they would all be concerned with the type of people who worked there. Are they skilled? Responsible? Will they take care of mom or dad in the same caring manner that I would? Nye Health Services is aware that, in the retirement industry, it’s all about the people. That’s why they’ve created a team of employees that treats residents like their own families and why their working environment is such a rewarding place to have a career.

Nye wanted to send both of these messages in their videos that we filmed for them. They knew that to create the environment their clients valued, they first needed to hire the best and brightest. We spent the day filming at two of their locations to capture the joy and caring that went into every task the staff performed, showing potential employees why they would consider working at Nye.

Though we did interview Nye’s founder and CEO, we tried to focus on the ‘show rather than tell’ motto when Frost Media Group created this video, knowing that the team environment would speak for itself.

We also created a patient experience video that was aimed at showing this same warm environment more from the resident perspective. To supplement these two videos, we created six mini videos (or Frostbytes) that will be perfect for social media. The ‘mission’ Frostbyte is a great example of an easy-to-use video for branding purposes on social media or at events.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time spent with the entire team at Nye and what we created. It was clear to us that everyone formed a united front to provide the most caring and nurturing environment possible to residents and to those going through rehab services. We hope our video storytelling accurately portrayed what a great place the Nye communities are and what a benefit they can be to our aging population.

Video Behind the Scenes Lauren Sieckmann Fitness Shoot Viral Marketing Ad Agency Omaha

Lauren Sieckmann Fitness Shoot

Body image distortion, eating disorders and general anxiety and depression issues continue to be a problem in our culture.

Mostly striking girls or young adult women, these debilitating problems are not only incredibly difficult to overcome, but they can also be tough for outsiders to understand. When someone is experiencing these issues, it can be a game-changer if they are able to find a mentor who can help them get on a better, healthier path.

Lauren Sieckmann is one of those mentors. A college volleyball players with a scholarship to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Lauren is one of the last people you might think would develop self-esteem or eating issues. However, the combination of constant pressure as a college athlete paired with the stress that came from an unhealthy personal relationship resulted in Lauren becoming depressed and developing an eating disorder that threatened her health.

After finding her own way to recovery, Lauren wants to tell her story to others and give them a healthier way to look at fitness and nutrition. Her online nutrition and exercise program carries the tagline of ‘Healthy Body/Happy Mind’, and that’s just what Lauren delivers. We were brought on board to create videos to introduce Lauren’s program through a welcome video as well as to create a nutrition video and over 120 short exercise videos that will be available to clients on her website.

While filming these videos both in and outdoors in a number of venues including gyms, parks and on tracks. We enjoyed seeing Lauren and her trainers in action, and seeing what a great role model Lauren will be for anyone who is involved with her program. Girls of any age will be able to look up to Lauren not only because she was a collegiate athlete and is now a fitness model, but also because she has such an infectious spirit and had the strength to share her past with others.

We loved telling Lauren’s story knowing that she will be able to help others live a healthier and happy life and encourage everyone to check out her website laurensieckmann.com. If you love the website as much as we do, give Mark at Identity Marketing Group a call, they did the brand, website, and all the marketing for this project. Great work!

* Videos shown in blog post are 2 of 3 videos available via free 7 day trial on Lauren’s website.

Frost Media Group Boys and Girls Club of America Video Shoot Vial Marketing Ad Omaha

Boys & Girls Club of Omaha Brand Campaign Shoot

Most of us were lucky enough to grow up with supportive families, friends and communities. With their help, we learned how to deal with life’s adversities, developed coping tools to use throughout our lives and had a strong support system to both celebrate with and receive help from. This is the ideal childhood situation, but as we all know, not every child is lucky enough to be born in this environment.

BGC2

Brandon, Westside Club Member.

Without a stable home environment, many children find themselves adrift before or after school. They often become withdrawn and sad, or they find themselves involved with a crowd that influences them in a negative way. It’s widely known that intervening and providing alternatives for these kids is one of the best way to keep them on the right path, but sometimes that is easier said than done.

That’s where the Boys and Girls Club of Omaha  comes in. By providing a place where kids can go to be with their peers, learn new skills, have fun and be part of a supportive environment, the Boys and Girls Club is changing lives.

We had the opportunity to interview three participants in the Club, all three of whom were Youth of the Year award recipients. Though their backgrounds and stories are all very different from each other, the common denominator is that all three of them would be experiencing very different realities right now if it weren’t for the Club giving them a ‘second home’.

There is no way that we, or anyone else, could tell Giselle, Brandon or Bailey’s story any better than they could. We knew that to really touch the hearts of potential supporters of the Club, the kids had to explain what it has meant to them in their own words. Filming these three extraordinary young people had a big impact on our staff. Not only had Giselle, Brandon and Bailey survived their circumstances, but they’d overcome them to grow into amazing young adults with bright futures ahead of them.

The Boys and Girls Club wanted an impactful brand video to show at their annual fundraising event, On the Road to Motown. This amazing gala had over 500 guests in attendance and raised $685,000. Even the kids were able to get involved by performing to Motown classics for the guests and serving up a delicious soul food dinner. The perfect kickoff to the festivities was this video as everyone had top of mind awareness that, though they were there to have a great time, they were also there for a reason.

We always enjoy helping worthy organizations tell their stories to potential supporters. We know that running a non-profit like Boys and Girls Club is not easy, nor is it inexpensive. To be able to perform their vital role in the community, they need to have effective fund-raising strategies. When video makes an impact and helps them reach their goals, we know that we have done our jobs. Thank you, Boys and Girls Club of Omaha, for allowing us to briefly be a part of your wonderful organization!

Frost Media Group Outside My Wire Video Shoot Vial Marketing Ad Omaha

Producing Videos for Outside My Wire

Shooting and producing videos can be (and usually is) a very rewarding job to have. We, Frost Media Group an Omaha video production company, get the chance to help others tell their stories, whether it’s one of achievement, triumph over obstacles or the continuing path that will hopefully lead them to the fulfillment of their dreams.

Most of the time, we’re telling the stories of businesses or non-profits and it’s always very rewarding to be a part of their journeys. However, sometimes a project comes along that really touches us and, while we’re going through the filming process, we recognize that we are truly part of something life-altering. This was the case with the two videos we shot for the Outside My Wire project.

Unlike most of our video projects, we didn’t really know what we were getting into when the process started. In fact, no one did. We were brought in on a shoot for Complete Nutrition, who wanted a video about one of their franchise owners. We flew with the Complete Nutrition team to Bozeman, Montana where we met franchisee Dan McGuinness.

When we began interviewing him for the shoot, what emerged was much more than just a business success story. Along with being a successful business owner, Dan was also a military veteran who had experienced injuries while deployed that led to severe pain and depression. After hitting rock bottom and contemplating suicide, Dan had found a way to fight back and regain his life and his health and his video is one of the most emotional and empowering we’ve ever shot.

Having his story filmed was also incredibly impactful for Dan. Throughout his struggles, he found it very difficult to reach out for help or talk to anyone about what he was going through. Once he was finally able to communicate his story, the relief he felt made him want to help others.

We knew that he would be a perfect brand ambassador for a platform we’d started, OutsideMyWire.com, which was geared toward helping struggling veterans by giving them a voice and therefore a lifeline. Dan and his girlfriend Angie loved the idea and immediately agreed to get involved however they could.

One of Dan’s first tasks after his video was filmed was to reach out to his friend and former veteran Patrick Flanigan, who also had a story to tell. Our team was invited to meet Patrick in Virginia Beach, and we were once again a part of creating an amazingly heartfelt video.

Though Pat’s story is different, the takeaway is the same: Because he was a man and a veteran, Pat did not feel like he could reach out for help or tell others what he was going through. Breaking down those walls and finally reaching out is what put Pat on the road to recovery, and he was more than willing to share his story to help other veterans reach out as well. We knew that we were really onto something when Pat’s video got over 21,000 views on Facebook, with only sixty dollars in paid views.

Outside My Wire is a platform we started because we knew deep in our hearts that healing often begins with sharing. Dan really made this message hit home when he said in his video, “The best thing any veteran can do for others is to share their story with them.”

We encourage all veterans who have a story to tell to visit www.OutsideMyWire.com to begin the process of healing. We encourage others to visit the Outside My Wire GoFundMe page to help contribute to this crucial service to help our military veterans. Everyone at Frost Media Group feels incredibly honored to be working on videos for Outside My Wire and helping to give hurting veterans the voice they need to recover.

Frost Media Group Ignite Shoot Vial Marketing Ad Omaha

Ignite Shoot | Creating Community Content

There is nothing more energizing and empowering than a dynamic speaker with engaging content. Well, there IS something more energizing and empowering than a dynamic speaker: a whole group of dynamic speakers!

The TEDx phenomenon has shown us that our communities and culture are hungry to learn from people who have in-depth experience and knowledge and are talented at presenting that knowledge to the rest of the world in bite-sized chunks. Yes, our culture today suffers from a short attention span, so the key to keeping them motivated is to offer up information they can quickly relate to and digest–and then send them on their way.

The organizers behind Ignite Omaha have taken this knowledge and used it to create exciting content that feature speakers given 5 minutes and 20 slides to present their unique information. What’s even better than that? The speakers are all local, so if you attend one of these events, you’ll probably get to hear from someone you know.

Organizer Jason Lauritsen addresses the crowd and thanks the event's sponsors before kicking off the Ignite speeches.

Organizer Jason Lauritsen addresses the crowd and thanks the event’s sponsors before kicking off the Ignite Speakers.

We had the pleasure of filming the most recent Ignite Omaha event which kicked off the HR Reinvention seminar in May. We were able to film eight dynamic speakers that all brought new ideas and powerful content to the table–or, in this case, the stage. We heard engaging and thought-provoking speeches on everything from being inclusive to situation awareness, all related in some way to the topic of the day: HR.

Lindsay Rai Reasner, the executive director of the Ronald McDonald House in Omaha, is a great example of someone you may not expect to be such an amazing speaker on a unique topic. But that’s the beauty of these types of events: you just never know.

Promoting an event that features speakers can be a tricky endeavor. You may not know who your key speakers will be, or you may not be able to obtain footage of their past speeches. That’s why promotion of the previous year’s events can be the right move. By showing what was offered at the last event and by capturing the audience’s reaction to it, you’re sending the message: “Look what you missed out on! Make sure you don’t make the same mistake twice.”

Bringing in a video crew to a seminar like HR Reinvention is also helpful because they can film other portions of the day’s events. While we were on location, we filmed the entire 90 minute workshop given by trainer and coach Sally Elatta. Portions of this can be used on social media or the entire workshop could be used in a distance-learning or online workshop situation.

There’s just nothing like an amazing speaker, and the only way to truly capture their energy is on video. We thoroughly enjoyed learning from the speakers that were included in this Ignite event and we cannot wait to be a part of the next one!

Frost Media Group No More Empty Pots Shoot Vial Marketing Ad Omaha

No More Empty Pots | Advertising Video Shoot

It’s hard to disagree with the idea that locally grown food is not only healthier for us to eat, but it’s also better for the environment. Unfortunately, finding or growing that local food can be difficult for many people and no where do we see that more than in neighborhoods facing poverty. No More Empty Pots is a grassroots, non-profit organization looking to make this effort a little easier for those in need. Through a number of initiatives including community gardens, education programs, and food-service incubators, the organization focuses on changing how we view food.

Of course, it’s much easier to teach someone about healthy living at an early age. This is one of the reasons that part of NMEP’s program focuses on children, engaging their naturally curious nature to help them learn about gardening, cooking and a healthy lifestyle. One of the videos we filmed to help the organization raise money on Omaha Gives! Day features Emily Liberto, a young lady who has benefited greatly from what NMEP offers.

One of NMEP’s main goals is to open a new building called The Food Hub, a shared-use commercial and production kitchen that would help train those in the industry as well as provide them a place to start a new food-based business. This project is still in Phase 1 development and was a major focus on their Omaha Gives! fundraising and advertising efforts. Filming a variety of advertising videos explaining the different parts of the organization’s programs was the way we thought No More Empty Pots could best engage potential donors. Here, volunteer Mary Sampson does a wonderful job of explaining just how much the organization contributes to the community.

Shooting content on location at No More Empty Pots’ current office and at one of their community gardens gave our team greater insight into the breadth of their organization and how important their work is.

Community member Paulette Genthon spoke about the community garden and how No More Empty Pots has helped bring the surrounding area together.

We look forward to seeing how this important organization grows and evolves as they reach their fundraising goals and make their sustainable dreams a reality.

Frost Media Group D2 Center Shoot Vial Marketing Ad Omaha

D2 Center Media Shoot

We all know that not graduating from high school has an enormous impact on a person’s future success and happiness. Unfortunately, many young adults are facing what seem like overwhelming circumstances that are preventing them from completing their degrees and embarking on a fulfilling future. That’s where The D2 Center comes in.

The mission of the D2 Center is to connect out-of-school and disengaged youth ages 15-21 and help put them on an educational pathway to the future. With mentors, support staff and other resources, The D2 enter provides young individuals the tools they need to earn a high school diploma and prepare for post-secondary opportunities and a fulfilling career.

Screen Shot 2016-06-14 at 8.41.35 AM

Like all non-profits, The D2 Center relies heavily on financial supporters to ensure their program is able to thrive and help those students in need. They knew that Omaha Gives! was an excellent opportunity to remind past donors of their involvement and engage and educate possible new donors. As with many non-profits, hearing from the individuals who are directly influenced by the organization was the best way for us to tell the Center’s story through media.

We filmed six Frost Bytes for The D2 Center, each included interviews with students, staff or insight about the programs they offer. Though the students had different stories of why they were struggling to obtain their degree, they each had a similar experience of support, kindness and motivation that came from partnering with the D2 Center.

Many of us cannot imagine what it would be like to be faced with the numerous obstacles that these students experienced. That is why it was so powerful to film their stories and hear that they were able to turn their lives around by being involved with The D2 Center.

We hope the stories of Lucia and Dominique were able to convince new donors that Omaha Gives! was a perfect opportunity to support The Center and hopefully become even more involved after the day of giving. We truly enjoyed getting to know the students and the staff of D2 Center, and look forward to seeing what they achieve in the future!

Frost Media Group Intercultural Senior Center Shoot Vial Marketing Ad Omaha

Intercultural Senior Center Video Campaign

Hope, caring and assistance are important words for our seniors, regardless of the language they speak. The Intercultural Senior Center is a gathering place for seniors of any heritage, culture or background and tends to cater to south Omaha residents as well as refugees who have come from countries experiencing strife or extreme poverty. Frost Media Group was tasked with creating a video campaign that captured the core of their mission.

image

The Center knew that Omaha Gives! day could be a turning point for them as they work to raise money and gain awareness for their organization. For this reason, they brought Frost Media in to film a video campaign of Frost Bytes (short one minute or less) to show potential donors the unique services they provide to our city’s aging population.

This was one of the first times that our team had the opportunity to work with translators as our subject from Nepal was still learning how to speak English. We loved hearing his story, both in his own language and in the few sentences of English that he was clearly proud to speak. We were touched by his story, especially because none of us had really considered how difficult it would be to come to this country as a senior citizen and not have a family or support circle to help take care of you.

Not only does ISC offer a supportive group of volunteers and staff to visit with and answer questions for the seniors who come to the Center, but they also offer a number of classes on everything from English as a Second Language to healthy eating. They also offer health screenings and transportation, which is vitally important for senior refugees who may be in poor health due to years of poverty and little or no access to healthcare.

The biggest takeaway for our team, though, was the feeling of family that permeated the center. We saw seniors of every background mingling, learning new skills and deepening relationships with those around them, something they not have had the opportunity to do without the help of the Intercultural Senior Center.

We hope that our videos helped in giving this very deserving non-profit the exposure they needed on Omaha Gives! day. We look forward to seeing how they progress and become an even stronger support system for the seniors who need them.

Frost Media Group Nebraska Enterprise Fund Shoot Viral Marketing Ad Omaha Subliminal Marketing Segmentation

Nebraska Enterprise Fund Video Shoot

Small businesses have numerous challenges as they start up, grow and expand. Many times, innovative ideas or incredible talent is wasted because these small businesses cannot get the help they need to succeed. That’s where Nebraska Enterprise Fund comes in. With a number of services to offer the small business community including funding options, business coaching and connections with resources in other areas, Nebraska Enterprise Fund is a small business’s best friend.

NET lopez

Of course, the only way an organization like NEF can help small businesses is if the business community knows they exist and knows they can come to them for help. We knew the best way to educate small business owners was to develop videos that not only focused on the NEF staff, but also featured the stories of small businesses that had benefitted from NEF’s services.

We filmed three one-minute videos for NEF as well as testimonial videos and an overview of the program and those it assists.

Jim Reiff of NEF was a great resource and not only provided lots of education about the organization, but also showed how much the staff truly cares about helping out those who come to them for assistance.

NET Jim

Our favorite part of the shoot was talking to the actual business owners who may have not been able to achieve their expansion dreams without the help of NEF. Stories like Itzel Lopez’s (owner of Maria Bonita Mexican Cuisine and Catering) really crystallized the fact that there are amazing small businesses out there that simply need that extra helping hand to take the next step and really add to our community.

We hope that telling Nebraska Enterprise Fund’s story through video will not only attract potential funders who can help strengthen their mission, but also educate the small business community that this resource is available to them. As small business owners ourselves, we understand the challenges that must be overcome and we really enjoyed getting the chance to promote NEF’s solution.
